Unesco DG calls on president

Visiting Unesco Director General Koichiro Matsuura paid a courtesy call on President Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban yesterday.Welcoming the Unesco top executive, the president said the contribution of Unesco for the development of science and education in Bangladesh is very praiseworthy. Koichiro Matsuura told the president that the Unesco would provide all-out support for protection of cultural heritage in Bangladesh. The Unesco would also expand its technical and vocational training programmes.
