Uttarpurush focuses on poet Matin Boiragi

Uttarpurush has been quite a familiar name among the literary enthusiasts. A little magazine of poetry, Uyttarpurush has been working on the poets and their poetry of the 1970s. In succession of that, the magazine recently held a publication ceremony and discussion session of its latest issue on poet Matin Boiragi at the VIP Lounge of the Press Club.Organised by Uttarpurush editor poet Hamid Rayhan, the programme presented an essay by poet Santosh Dhali on Matin Boiragi's poetry. Reputed litterateur and journalist Fayez Ahmad attended the programme as chief guest, while poet Asad Chowdhury launched the special issue of Uttarpurush. Besides, the New Age editor Enayetullah Khan, poet-essayist Borhanuddin Khan Jahangir, language-fighter Abdul Matin, Dr. T Ali, Rafiqul Haque 'Dadu Bhai' attended the programme. Eminent poets of the '70s including Samudra Gupta, Mohsin Shastropani, Kazi Rozy, Makid Haider, Taheruddin, Munir Siraj, Bimol Guha, Jafrul Ahsan and Tapan Bagchi also spoke on the poet. Quamrul Hasan Manju, Sumona Biswas, Suprabha Shebati and Aparna Chowdhury recited poems.
