US draft on Iraq needs serious work: Russia

Shiite Muslim Iraqis shout anti-Saddam Hussein and anti-US slogans during a demonstration in Najaf yesterday, one week after a massive car bomb killed the revered Shiite cleric Ayatollah Mohammed Baqer al-Hakim during the weekly Friday prayers in the holy city. Militiamen armed with Kalashnikovs stopped all vehicles entering the square around the city's main shrine, 180s km south of Baghdad, in a bid to prevent any repetition of the huge blast which killed Hakim and 82 others after he delivered the sermon there last week.
