"Safe driving"

This is reference to the letter "Safe Driving" (August 27, 2003), by Reazur Rahman. I am very sorry about his friend. And I am equally sorry to say that, this is an everyday nightmare. Such bends on roads are really dangerous and have brought ends to many lives. It is very true that the ministry can easily take some measures to avoid such mishaps. For example, they can place warning signs by the roadside or set up speed limit on that particular road, and many more. And about training the drivers, well! Maybe the writer is aware of the fact that these drivers get a forfeited license from the BRTA before they are even trained. The ustaads ( the teachers, here their driving teachers) of all these public bus drivers and truck drivers tell them during the driving lessons that they (the drivers) should not be scared of anything but every vehicle that pass by should be scared of them. Sometimes, when I see the way they are driving on highways, I really doubt whether their brake is working or not. Lastly, those literate drivers! Well, today's young men only love to drive fast and furiously, and these too impulsive drivers are no less than the truck drivers. So the ministry concerned should monitor safe driving both in the city streets and highways.
