200 bhori gold looted from Ashulia jeweller
Robbers made away with 200 bhori of gold from a jewelry shop in Ashulia on the outskirts of the capital this evening.
A gang of at least seven robbers in a microbus arrived in Shamser Plaza in Ganakbari area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway at about 7:30pm, said Abdul Kuddus, general secretary of the shop owners' association of the market.
They stormed the Piyush Jewelers and took away at least 200 bhori of gold, he added.
While fleeing the area, the miscreants blasted four homemade bombs and fired several rounds of bullets, leaving a few people injured, Russell Sheikh, assistant superintendent of police (Savar circle), told our Savar correspondent.
Police are investigating the matter, the police official said.
