Bangladesh Coast Guard members seized two lakh Yaba tablets from a canal of Karnaphuli river in Anwara upazila of Chittagong early today.
None was arrested in this connection, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
The coastguards estimated the value of the seized drugs at Tk 10 crore, said Lt Commander Ashik Mahmud, an official of Coast Guard intelligence.
Acting on a tip-off, the coastguard personnel conducted a raid in the canal around 1:00am to nab some persons who were shifting the tablets by a boat, Mahmud added.
As the coastguard team reached near the boat, the passengers threw a bag full of Yaba tablets into water and fled the scene.
