2 killed when ticket seekers clash with cops in Natore
Two people were killed and 10 others injured as train-ticket seekers clashed with law enforcers at Ishwardi Bypass Rail Station in Natore today.
The deceased were identified as Jibon Hossain, 22, and Jamat Ali, 28, of Daharshoila village in Lalpur upazila, our Natore Correspondent reports quoting Bashudev Bonik, superintendent of police in the district.
The clash erupted around 11:00am as the Dhaka-bound people queued for buying tickets at a counter of the railway station, the correspondent said.
Later, they locked into the clash with the railway police as the latter tried to disperse the clashing people, leaving Jamat dead on the spot and 11 others injured, the police official said.
Of the injured, Jibon succumbed to his injuries at Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex around 11:30am.
The bodies were sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Railway authorities formed a there-member committee headed by Achin Kumar Talukdar, railway signal and telecommunication engineer of western zone, to investigate the incident.
The committee was asked to submit its report within three working days.
