2 killed in Cox's Bazar road crash
Two persons were killed and four critically injured when a microbus skidded off the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in Chokoria upazila of Cox's Bazar this morning.
The deceased are microbus driver Md Shahjahan, 30, and its passenger Pushpa Bala Pal, 60. Both of them hailed from Eidgaon area of Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent.
The accident took place when the driver lost his control over the steering around 8:00am, said Sohel Rana, a sub-inspector of Dolahazara highway police outpost.
Shahjahan and Pushpa Bala died on the spot while four of its passengers suffered injuries, the SI said.
The microbus was going to Cox's Bazar from Chittagong.
The injured were taken to a local hospital while the bodies were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
