2 friends found dead in Ctg
Police recovered the bodies of two friends, including a student who went missing two days ago, from a septic tank of an under construction building in Chittagong city this morning.
Victim Kamrul Hasan, 18, was an HSC student of Omargani MES College and his friend Furkan Uddin, 18, was a garment worker of Tulatali area in the port city, said Tarikul Islam, a sub-inspector (SI) of Khulshi Police Station.
Hasan went out of his Tulatali residence Saturday while Uddin remained missing since yesterday evening, family sources said.
Reasons behind the death could not be known immediately.
Khurshida Begum, mother of Uddin, first came to know about the murder of his son this morning.
She repeatedly called the cell phone of his son all through the night but nobody responded on the other side.
“As I dialed the number again this morning, an unknown person informed me that my son was killed and his body was dumped in a septic tank in Gate No. 2 area of the city," a sobbing mother told The Daily Star.
"After hearing the news, I rushed to the spot and saw two bodies lying in the tank," the mother described.
Later, on information, police came to the scene and recovered the bodies around 10:30am.
The hands and legs of both the bodies were tied up with ropes, reports our Chittagong correspondent quoting the SI.
