2 cops hurt as Jamaat, Shibir men hurl bombs at Mirpur
Two policemen were injured when activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir hurled two crude bombs targeting them at Mirpur-10 in Dhaka.
The injured -- constable Samidul and Nayek Mannan – received first aid, said Sayed Ziauzzaman, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station.
The activists threw the bombs from a brisk procession in Benaroshmi Palli area around 9:00am when the law enforcers were on duty there, leaving the duo slightly injured, the OC said.
Police later detained Sanaullah, a student of Homeopathic Medical College in Mirpur, and recovered three crude bombs from the spot, he added.
