At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League, over establishing supremacy at Jahangirnagar University early today.

The clash took place when a group of BCL of Maulana Bhashani Hall unit led by its general secretary Aninda stormed into the rooms of Humayun Kabir, organising secretary of the university unit BCL; Shakil Ahmed, president of the hall unit; and Raknuzzaman Sabuj, member of the unit.

Soon after entering into the rooms, Aninda and his fellows stabbed Kabir, Shakil and Sabuj and their seven roommates around 4:30am, Jahangirnagar University sources said.

The injured were whisked off to the University Medical Hospital and later Kabir, Shakil and Sabuj were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital at Savar in critical condition.
