1 killed, 3 critical as lorry crashes into Pabna house
A teacher died and three of his students critically injured after a fuel laden lorry veered off the road and crashed into a house in Santhia upazila of Pabna this evening.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam allies Saiful, 30, a teacher of Dhopadah Dakhil madrasa, reports our Pabna correspondent.
Among the five, the conditions of tenth grade students Rozina, 15, Kulsum, 16, and Sumi, 14, were critical. They were being treated at Bera Upazila Health Complex.
The two others were Atique and Mamun.
Saiful was providing private tuition to his students when the lorry crashed into the Koromza village house around 5:00pm, said Shahed Mahamud, officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station.
“The teacher died on the spot. Five children were injured. The condition of three was serious.”
Police caught the lorry, but the driver responsible managed to flee.
