1 held with Rs 50 lakh at Dhaka Airport

Customs intelligence officials arrested one person and recovered Indian Rs 50 lakh from his possession at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital this morning.

Detained Muhammad Idris, 35, a Bangladeshi national, landed the airport by an Air Arabia flight from Pakistan, Customs Intelligence Director General Moinul Khan told The Daily Star.

On suspicion, customs authorities held him around 11:00am while he was crossing the green channel of the airport and recovered the huge amount of Indian currencies, the official added.
