1 held with 2kg gold at Shahjalal airport
Customs officials detained a man along with three gold bars weighing 2.1 kilograms at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital last night.
On secret information, customs officials seized the gold bars from a hand bag of one Sujan when he was crossing the boarding bridge around 11:30pm, said Ruhul Amin, assistant commissioner of the airport customs.
Sujan came from Singapore by a flight of Tiger Airways, said the official said.
The price of the seized gold bars is around Tk 1 crore, he added.
